Why should you use reusable microfiber mops? After all, there are disposable non microfiber options out there. You’ve seen them with their slick packaging and even slicker marketing campaigns. You’ve probably even used them. Are there any swiffer alternatives out there? How could our reusable microfiber mops possibly be any better? We don’t have exciting packing, unless you consider brown cardboard exciting. We don’t have slick marketing campaigns (you’re looking at it right now).
REUSABLE MICROFIBER MOPS
Here’s what we do have; we have the cleaning power of microfiber. We have the ability to clean your floor far more effectively than Swiffer could ever dream. (If you need to learn more about why microfiber is so effective you should read our article about how microfiber works.) You can do it faster than you can with Swiffer too. What is a Swiffer, about 12” wide? We have microfiber mops that range from 10" all the way up to 60"! With that in mind you should be able to mop the floor in two thirds the amount of time at the very least. We’ve got professional quality. Go to any hospital and see what they’re using (hint: it’s not Swiffer).
Reusable Mops Save You Money!
Also, really… what’s with throwing these things away? Forget about being green, it just doesn’t make economic sense. I’m looking at Swiffer Sweeper (dust mop) refills on Amazon and the best deal I found was a box of 24 for $12. It also said that they’d clean 100 square feet each. Wow! 100 whole square feet! So if you had a 1200 square foot house it would cost you $6 to wet mop your home with Swiffer. You could easily mop 1200 square feet with one or two microfiber mop pads. Then, when you’re done, instead of throwing them in the trash you can throw them in the wash. You could then do the same thing next week, and the week after that (and on and on for at least a few years). Let’s say you could only get 100 washings out of a microfiber mop pad (read more about how long microfiber lasts here), and let’s say you used two 17” wet pads to mop your 1200 square feet every week and they lasted you 2 years (100 washings). The reusable microfiber mops would cost $0.07 per week (3.45 x 2 / 100). The Swiffer would cost you $6.00 per week.
